The NHL declined the Boston Bruins' four-year, $12 million contract extension with Chris Kelly, based on various reviews.

The Bruins expect the offer to undergo when Kelly becomes an unrestricted free agent on This summer 1.

"We have have a commitment from Kelly for 4 years,Inch Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli told local reporters on Wednesday. "We are unable to register that contract yet due to payroll marking issues."

The veteran forward carried out with work-high 20 goals and 19 assists in 82 games for that Bruins this year.

The 31-year-old performed a vital role around the checking line throughout the Bruins' go to the Stanley Cup this year-11. He published five goals and 13 points in 25 games throughout this year's 2010 nfl playoffs.

Kelly, who had been selected within the third round (No. 94 overall) through the Ottawa Senators within the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, was acquired through the Bruins on February. 15, 2011, in return for another-round draft pick this year.

The NHL has yet to create the salary cap for that 2012-13 season.
