With only eventually to relish and get over a draining seven-game first round series using the Ottawa Senators, the Rangers were back around the Madison Square Garden ice honoring another victory.

The Rangers broke open a good contest at the start of the 3rd when rookie Chris Kreider and Kaira Richards totalled in quick succession to get control.

Kreider, who earlier this year was playing college hockey, triggered the burst as he competed in within the blue line and unleashed a blistering slap shot past neminder Braden Holtby's outstretched glove.

Prior to the capacity crowd had finished honoring these were back on their own ft again when Richards, on the setup from Kreider, added some insurance by stick handling in in the boards and moving the puck between your Washington netminder's pads.

"We've got that large goal and also got everyone else in it therefore we went and adopted that up," Richards stated.

"That's area of the momentum shifts we discuss. Rather than maybe you get one, you maybe get 2 or 3 for the reason that five, ten minutes in which you get momentum.
