Blackhawks rookie forward Andrew Shaw was suspended for 3 games Tuesday for his hit on Phoenix goalkeeper Mike Cruz in Game 2 of the opening-round playoff series that's tied at one game each.

Shaw what food was in morning practice Tuesday prior to the suspension was introduced, several hrs before Game 3 in Chicago.

Cruz was behind the internet pursuing the puck when Shaw came skating in and the shoulder caught the goaltender within the mind, knocking him towards the ice. Cruz could wake up after about 5 minutes and remained in the overall game.

Cruz didn't practice Monday but what food was in a Tuesday morning skate together with his status for Game 3 a game title-time decision.

Shaw have a five-minute game misconduct for that incident. NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan stated Shaw’s connection with Cruz wasn't incidental which the rookie didn’t create a reasonable effort to prevent Cruz.

“It is really a powerful blow shipped by Shaw’s shoulder to Smith’s face,” Shanahan stated. “This isn't a situation of the skater and goaltender colliding while going after a loose puck. Shaw skated a substantial distance and hits the mind from the stationary goaltender that has having the puck.”

The 20-year-old Shaw, who had been using a highly effective third line with Dork Bolland and Bryan Bickell, made an appearance in 37 regular-season games and obtained 12 goals with 11 assists. He was calculating 13:27 of ice amount of time in the very first two playoff games.

Shaw stated throughout a telephone hearing Monday he attempted to create a point he didn't deliberately hit Cruz.

“It was much more of the way i didn’t have plenty of time to get away from the way in which,” Shaw stated Tuesday prior to the suspension was introduced. “I inform them that the next time I’ll use there with increased control. ... However it occur in a moment, so it’s difficult to believe that fast.”

Shaw could be qualified to come back for a game title 6.
