The NHL board of governors has approved the purchase from the St. Louis Blues to some group headed by St. Louis beer distributor Tom Stillman, the league introduced Wednesday.

The purchase cost wasn't revealed, but is thought to become about US$130 million.

The Stillman group will end up the eighth who owns the Blues because the franchise has been around since in 1966. The audience is purchasing they from the group headed by Dork Checketts and the Sports Capital Partners Worldwide.

Stillman is chairman and ceo of Summit Disbursing in St. Louis and it has possessed a minority be part of the Blues since 2007.

Spokesmen for that Blues and also the NHL rejected comment beyond a 1-sentence news release in the league announcing approval from the purchase. A news conference is anticipated on Thursday in St. Louis and could include commissioner Gary Bettman.
